The San Joaquin Marsh Reserve is located adjacent to UC Irvine Campus. Use of both the Arboretum and the San Joaquin Marsh Reserve is restricted to scheduled events and approved use for the purposes of research, teaching, and public service. Once applications are approved, management staff will distribute gate codes and facilitate scheduling and user needs for activities.
The UCI Arboretum serves as the primary entrance to the reserve, which is accessed via a driveway off Campus Drive between Jamboree Road and Carlson Avenue. Parking for users is free, but limited to 3-5 vehicles. Large classes will need to walk from campus. A dirt road bounding the reserve, plus an array of roads around the experimental ponds, enables vehicle access to most regions for management and approved use.
